Not every interesting place belongs online as a route

Urban exploration is attractive because places carry stories. Old industry, empty buildings and forgotten city edges show how an area changes.

That interest does not mean every location should be shared publicly. Unsafe floors, forbidden access and fragile buildings are clear boundaries.

What you can share

Share public viewpoints, historical context, heritage walks and places you can safely view or photograph from public space.

Avoid instructions for crossing fences, opening windows or bypassing security. That information does not help users and harms the place.

Make the place understandable

A good urban spot explains what you see, why it matters and how to stay respectful. Think construction year, former function, sightlines and public alternatives.

That keeps the category interesting without pushing people toward dangerous or unwanted situations.
